At Diamond Racing Stables, we are dedicated to excellence in horse racing, a commitment that has defined our journey since our inception. Founded by renowned trainer Robert Dunn, who boasts an impressive record of over 2,000 winners in a decades long career, we have established ourselves as a leader in the New Zealand racing industry. Under Robert’s guidance, we achieved remarkable milestones, including winning the NZ Premiership in 2020 and 2021.
In 2021, we proudly entered into a training partnership with Jenna Dunn, Robert’s daughter-in-law. Together, they captured the 2023 NZ Trainers Premiership and are currently on track for another title in 2024, having trained over 375 winners in just three and a half years..
Diamond Racing is more than just a business; it’s a family. John Dunn, Robert’s son and a leading driver in New Zealand, plays a vital role in managing our Woodend Beach Stables. The family’s dedication extends to John and Jenna’s children, who often lend a hand on weekends. The strong family ties continue with Craig Edmonds, Jenna’s father, who serves as a farrier and trackwork driver.
We also take pride in nurturing young talent, developing them into top-class horsemen and women, ensuring the legacy of excellence continues.

Korbyn has been with Diamond Racing for around 8 years. A successful Junior Driver with 80 wins to his name, recently Korbyn has been training a couple of horses and has recorded 6 training wins so far. When John & Jenna are away, the responsibility of running the Woodend Beach Stables falls onto Korbyns shoulders.

Craig continues the family theme here at Diamond Racing. Father of Jenna (Trainer) and Father in-law to John (Stable Driver). Craig shoes a number of our horses as well as training a few horses in partnership with another of his daughters, Aimee Edmonds.
Riley Harrison
Junior Driver
Riley began with Diamond Racing around 2019 and has progressed from stable hand to trial driver and now Junior Driver. Riley has 23 driving wins in her name and is one of the leading junior drivers in Canterbury.
Mikayla Lewis
Junior Driver
Mikayla joined us in 2024 and is an integral part of our Woodend Stables as a Junior Driver. With stints with Brent White and All Stars Racing, she brings 10 years experience to Diamond Racing.
Jacob Dunn
Junior Driver
Jacob has recently started in a full-time role at Diamond Racing after previously working at a drainage company. In 2025 he gained his Junior Driver License and is now starting on this new journey.
Charlie Gavigan
Stable-hand
Charlie is a real workhorse and spends his school holidays and weekends working at Diamond Racing. Be it driving horses, driving tractors or telling everyone how good Absolute Dynamite, he’s always a busy man on his days at the Beach.
Bluey
Trackwork Driver
Gary Lane, aka Bluey, has been a member of Diamond Racing for at least 10 years. Gary spent years driving trucks for Majestic Transport, but about 6 years ago he moved into a full-time role with the stable.
